This handmade ceramic clock design is part of my whimsical design for clocks with each one slightly different. The glaze is one of my special matt non-glossy glazes in oatmeal colour with dark specks. This clock measures 200mm (8 inches) high by 150mm (6 inches) wide at the front by 65mm (2.5 inches) front to back. This is battery operated with a single AA battery. I enjoy making unique designs for ceramic clocks and use earthenware clay that I fire in my own kiln, I then apply glazes which I have developed myself that are rich in colour or surface pattern. My studio is at the bottom of our garden down a winding path past the silkie bantams; Bluebell, Primrose and Snowdrop. They lay the cutest little eggs for our breakfast each morning! Sinbad the cat strolls past and curls up by the door for a snooze in the sunshine with not a care in the world. I am inspired by the lovely Somerset countryside, listening to the birds singing and the rain pitter-patter on the roof. My paintings and ceramics are a great joy to create and allow me to spend endless hours dreaming up new designs and applying them to paper and clay. And my lovely wife brings me endless cups of tea and biscuits as I share my latest efforts with her and receive much-needed critique which I value with affection.
